Prevalence of chronic kidney disease in patients with psoriatic arthritis

Aim. Study of prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in patients with psoriatiс arthritis (PsA).
Methods. Frequency of CKD in 71 patients with PsA, observed in years 2008-2010, was analysed. In all patients CKD signs were screened. Glomerular filtrartion rate (eGFR) was assessed according to MDRD formula.
Results. In 76,4% of patients with PsA signs of CKD were found, in group of patients older than 60 years all 100% had CKD. 61,9% of patients with CKD had only changes in urinalysis with normal eGFR. 43,6% of patients had CKD stage II. eGFR correlated with age, variant of PsA and cardiovascular diseases.
Conclusion. CKD can be found in most of patients with PsA.
